As of 2013, there were an estimated 44.4 million people with dementia worldwide.This number will increase to an estimated 75.6 million in 2030, and 135.5 million in 2050. Already 62% of people with dementia live in developing countries, but by 2050 this will rise to 71%. According to South Africa’s 2011 census, there are approximately 2.2 million people in South Africa with some form of dementia.

Description
Geriatrics and elder care is an extremely underserved space in counselling and caregiving. Often family becomes caregivers which can result in stress and anxiety for all. Dementia and Alzheimer's Disease makes the situation all the more unbearable as there is not much information around how to manage the practical losses that the disease brings daily. We explore the impact on mind, body and soul for the individual and their families.
We also explore how Dementia can be diagnosed in children, middle aged indivduals and sportsmen and sportwoman.
