  • Description

MODULE 28 is comprised of three study units, first we guide you through the functioning of the human body with the anatomy and physiology, secondly we discuss against this background study the physiological processes that support health and healing and finally we train you in natural ways to prevent disease and support healing with the emphasis on longevity as quality living.
We are sure that you will enjoy this module and that it will greatly increase your clinical know-how in the field of wellness coaching and counselling.

Here is exactly what we cover in this course:

STUDY UNIT 28.1 ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY INTRO

Can you, for instance, explain the detoxing function of the liver?  Every healthcare worker is responsible to their clients to be well qualified and this includes a thorough knowledge of the functioning and structure of the human body they attend to. In this study unit you’ll learn about the systems of the human body, their locations and the terminology used in physiology.

    STUDY UNIT 28.2 BODY PROCESSES

In this study we take a functional medicine approach to teach the student about the balance of the homeostatic control mechanisms of the human body. It is based on the wellness strategy that if all the essential processes of the body like the adrenal and hormone system, the autonomic nervous system and detoxification, etc. work effectively health van be maintained and healing encouraged. In each instance we recommend natural ways to restore malfunctioning systems to normal.

STUDY UNIT 28.3 PREVENTATIVE HEALH PROTOCOLS

The wellness approach is one of preventative healthcare. This means that any person can take responsibility and charge of their own health to minimise the risk or often even completely avoid chronic and dread diseases. Preventive measures can be applied at all stages across the lifespan and along a disease spectrum, to prevent further decline over time. The good news is that the same measures that apply to prevention of disease, will  also contribute to healing.  It takes into account that disease and disability are affected by environmental factors, genetic predisposition, disease agents, and lifestyle choices over which a client has self-control. This is known as self-care based on primal actions. In this study unit we teach you how to coach your client in self-care protocols.

    ASSESSMENTS

We include self-assessments in some study units to help you check your knowledge base before attempting the multiple choice quiz.

The student will be expected to work through the material and then do the multiple choice to gain the credits. If you fail, don’t worry it only means that you are not competent yet, and you may then revisit the material and repeat the assignment.
