Description
Nowhere else does the divine economy become as clear as in studying the history and theology of the tabernacle. The tabernacle embodies the story of God coming down to live with among his people. Tabernacle means "place of meeting" and refers to the time and mode in history where God dwelt among his people on earth. By exploring the tabernacle in the wilderness we learn about God’s holiness and his plan for the reconciliation of humankind. The exodus took place in the 13th-century B.C.E. during the Ramesside Period and the tabernacle structure metaphorically portrays since that time the saving work of Jesus as atonement. Therefore the tabernacle study is an excellent background for a study of soteriology, ecclesiology and the nature of God. It is both enlightening and enriching.
