Anchored is a practical, trauma informed guide for counsellors who support parents in developing emotional regulation so that children can learn regulation through relationship, not just instruction. The module integrates neuroscience, attachment, temperament, parenting styles, and concrete practices families can use every day. Its central premise is simple and evidence aligned: when parents regulate well, children learn to regulate well.

  • Description

Anchored is a practical, trauma informed guide for counsellors who support parents in developing emotional regulation. This module equips counsellors with practical strategies to help parents stay grounded while supporting children through emotional storms. By combining emotional coaching, trauma-informed insights, and reflective questioning, counsellors can guide parents to recognize and regulate their own emotions, model healthy coping, and create secure environments where children feel both loved and guided. The module integrates research insights, metaphors, visual aids, and scripts to make emotional learning accessible and sustainable beyond the counseling room. Ultimately, it empowers parents to break cycles of negative patterns, nurture emotional safety, and develop emotional regulation and emotional intelligence not only in themselves, but also their children.
