  • Description

The purpose of this CPD is to introduce the counsellor/wellness practitioner to a better understanding of the methodology of wellness healthcare.  A heuristic sets out the different methodological options for practicing healthcare.  It demonstrates that a position that proceeds form an empirical objective pole of understanding results in biomedical thinking. The wellness approach, however,  is a more balanced approach that also takes into account other poles such as the subjective (bodymind medicine) and the ideational  (spirituality and transpersonal realities).  This enables the wellness practitioner to follow a more comprehensive approach to provide for an integration of both counselling and clinical health care elements as integrative approach.

This CPD will give the student a clear understanding of the meta-theory underlying the wellbeing strategy in counselling.

The CPD is worth 3 points and can  be completed by filling in the multiple choice questionnaire based on this PowerPoint programme.  The pass rate is 40%

A CPD certificate will be issued upon successful completion of the multiple choice assignment.
